A Bridge, Not a Gatekeeper

InSight Biodiversity is a BC-based Benefit Company that acts as a bridge between emerging biodiversity credit methodologies and Indigenous governance and stewardship systems in BC. We do not own or profit from the Savimbo methodology; our role is to help adapt and test approaches like the Indicator Species Biodiversity Methodology (ISBM) in BC under Indigenous leadership, while reducing technical burden and risk for communities.

Legally Bound to Our Values

As a Benefit Company, our Articles of Incorporation legally bind us to socio-ecological priorities — environmental conservation, Indigenous governance, Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), and data sovereignty. These are not voluntary commitments. They are enforced through our legal structure and annual reporting requirements.

Indigenous Governance & FPIC

All projects proceed only with Free, Prior and Informed Consent. Nations lead; we support.

Data Sovereignty

All biodiversity data remains under Nation control. We build OCAP®-aligned governance frameworks with each partner community.

Open-Access Resources

All frameworks, templates and tools we develop are freely shared to build field-wide capacity, not competitive advantage.

Nature Finance & Indigenous Governance

"Supporting Indigenous-led pilot projects is one of three Quick Wins needed before 2030."
